Trails and guided tours

Welcome on a guided tour of Ängsö National Park! Meet the park manager or let a local guide take you on a tour of the national park.

About the activity

Ängsö National Park with the park manager

On this guided tour, the national park manager is your guide and will meet you by the jetty when the Waxholmsbolaget ferry from Stockholm arrives. A guided tour takes about 1,5 hours.

From May 12 to June 20, 2024, guided tours are available on days when the Waxholmsbolaget ferry arrives from Stockholm. Book your tour by email to angso.stockholm@lansstyrelsen.se, no later than 12.00 the day before the guided tour.

Tickets are 80 SEK/adult. Children and youth under 18 are free of charge. Please note that payments can only be made on site, via Swish.

There are no guided tours after June 21.

Haven’t booked, still want to take the guided tour?

If you arrive by the ferry from Stockholm and have forgotten to book a guided tour, please contact the national park manager on arrival. If there is a tour scheduled, you are welcome to join in! Please note that the regular tours are in Swedish, it is up to the manager (and the rest of the group) if he can do it in English or both languages.

Accessibility - discover Ängsö National Park on your own

Visitors are welcome to discover Ängsö on their own. The landscape is relatively flat and easy to walk through. Although gnarly roots and stones make the ground uneven, the trails are inviting!

Hemudden, the area between the jetty for the ferry and the cottage, is wheelchair-accessible: The paths are made of packed gravel. There is a dry toilet, picknick area with a fire pit. The small houses by the water are open to the public and offer shelter from rain and wind. There are tables inside and a small exhibition about the national park. All these features are wheelchair-accessible.

Beyond the cottage, the ground becomes more uneven and the inclination more challenging. Paths are not accessible to  wheelchairs.

In spring, the ground gets saturated with water. Trails pass through wet or sensitive areas on boardwalks. In the summer, when the ground dries up, it is possible to bring a stroller along some of the trails.
